What a Test Shoot Is Like

I usually only show the best 6 pictures from each shoot — but where’s the fun in that?? Here’s a glimpse into what it’s like when you book a test shoot with me. It all starts with a solid mood board and a style concept. For this shoot, I wanted to stick with simple, neutral colors and denim. Throw in a couple of spunky hats for good measure. I typically shoot for two hours, with multiple looks and a variety of unique locations to tell a complex fashion story. I spend hours scouting new locations so that your images truly stand out from the crowd. Like this flower field and hidden pond next to a roundabout that most people drive past without ever noticing.

The best results occur when you allow yourself to be adventurous! For some of these shots, Isabelle and I had to stand in the middle of the pond. For others, we ducked into a tunnel under some railroad tracks where a small ravine ran through. To make adventuring easier, I have a pop up changing tent so we don’t have to run back and forth to the car to change looks. We shot until the sun went down, sweaty and tired, but happy knowing we created some magic! What’s your favorite look from this set? Let me know in the comments below!
